Registration Information

In order to enroll your child at E. Rivers the following documents must be provided. A registration and placement on an active class roll cannot occur until all of the requested documents have been provided. The office staff will assist you if you are lacking any of the items. Please be sure to read the information provided to you in regards to proof of residency. Thank you!

1. Certificate of Immunization on the current Georgia form. This can be obtained from a Fulton County health clinic or your pediatrician.

2. Certificate of Ear, Eye and Dental Exam on the current Georgia form. This can be obtained from a Fulton County health clinic or your pediatrician.

3. Birth Certificate. This must be the original or an official copy with number and seal.

4. Social Security card or a waiver form.

5. Last report card (not for Kindergarten students).

6. Proof of bona fide residency.

Proof of Residence Information

It is a requirement of the Atlanta Public Schools that all families must provide proof of bona fide residence within the boundaries of the city of Atlanta and within the established attendance zones for individual schools. Bona fide residence is defined as the primary residence where the family actually resides. It very important that proof of residency is current and correct. The numbers of students attending an individual school affect the distribution of funds to schools and the proper and effective use of facilities. We thank you for your cooperation with this important matter.

The following guidelines will be used to determine your bona fide residence within the attendance zone for E. Rivers.

At the time of registration and before a registration is considered complete and ready for acceptance at the school, the registering party (parent or legal guardian only) must provide:

*           A current Georgia Power bill

*           A completed notarized affidavit of residency (provided)

*           A current mortgage statement or lease

If you live in a home where the electricity is provided, you must supply a letter on company letterhead from the leasing office attesting to your residency.

Generic leases (leases without preprinted logo of leasing company) must be accompanied by a letter on company letterhead attesting to your residency.

If you are staying with someone or rent from a private individual, the aforementioned items will be required from that individual accompanied by a letter signed by the lessor attesting to your residency. A School Social Worker will make a home visit to confirm residency.

If you are considered to be displaced and without a home, please notify us and you will be notified of your rights and responsibilities confidentially.

Request for administrative transfer from a zone other than Rivers (within the city of Atlanta only) or for tuition paying status (outside of Atlanta) are received and processed by the Office of Student Placement, 130 Trinity Ave SW, 2^nd floor, 404-802-2202.
